ProWein 2025 sees dip in visitors
ProWein say they remain confident in their global status, even as attendance drops for the third year running and Wine Paris gains momentum in the race to be Europe’s premier wine trade fair.
Approximately 42,000 industry professionals from 128 countries gathered in Düsseldorf for ProWein 2025, including key buyers from the US, Japan, South Korea and China. While that’s a significant showing, it's down from 45,082 in 2024 and well behind Wine Paris, which welcomed over 52,000 visitors this year and expanded its floorspace by 80%.
ProWein owners Messe Düsseldorf, who organise 40 other trade fairs, are bullish. CEO Marius Berlemann described ProWein as the wine trade’s 'go-to fair' highlighting its international reach and growing focus on spirits and no/low alcohol trends.
