Constellation streamlines wine portfolio

Constellation Brands has signed a deal to divest several of its mass-market wine brands, including Woodbridge, Meiomi and Robert Mondavi Private Selection, to The Wine Group.

The move marks a strategic shift toward premium wines and spirits, with a focus on labels priced at $15 upwards.

Retained brands include Robert Mondavi Winery, The Prisoner, Kim Crawford, and Ruffino, alongside craft spirits like Casa Noble tequila and High West whiskey. The transaction includes vineyards and facilities and is expected to close later this year, after the company’s first fiscal quarter, pending regulatory approval.

Constellation is also reviewing its structure to align with this leaner, more premium portfolio—projected to yield $200 million in cost savings by 2028.
