Wetherspoon attempts wine-tasting record

J D Wetherspoon is inviting customers to take part in the world’s largest wine tasting in an attempt to create a new Guinness World Record.

The synchronised tasting will take place in all Wetherspoon pubs across the UK at 6pm on Wednesday 21st May, when customers will be offered a free 50ml glass of Fetzer Coldwater Creek wine. More than 5,100 tasters will have to sip at the same time to beat the current world record.

The event launches Wetherspoons’ 19-day wine festival, which runs until Friday 8th June, during which all wines will be sold at ‘house wine’ prices, including six guests wines that have been added to its list.
