Bottle Shock, the latest wine movie, opens

We’ve had Sideways and A Good Year - now it’s time for another wine movie. This one is loosely based on the Judgment of Paris blind wine tasting of 1976 and it releases in the US this week. Called Bottle Shock, the movie stars Alan Rickman. He plays Steven Spurrier as a British wine shop owner in Paris hoping to revive his failing business by sponsoring a competition that will pit French wines against those of California.

There is no release date yet for the film in the UK – and, as for the result, well there won’t be too many surprises for everyone who knows about the infamous tasting.
