IWSC announce Northern Hemisphere results
The International Wine & Spirit Competition has released details of their winning wines for 2009 from the Northern Hemisphere, following ten weeks of blind tasting by 70 industry experts from around the world.
Wines from 33 countries across Europe, Asia, the USA and Canada were judged with a total of 102 Gold medals awarded. Own label wines did well with Asda winning the highest number of medals and even Lidl won a silver for their 2007 Chablis which also won Best in Class beating other Chablis later revealed to be twice the price.
Southern Hemisphere wines are judged separately and results will follow later in the year.
