NY vines hit by frost
Wine producers in New York are facing reduced crops due to late spring frosts that hit the Lake Erie Grape Belt last month. Temperatures dropped into the mid-20s (Fahrenheit) and it is estimated the overall crop loss will be between 10-20%. The grape varieties affected were primarily Concord and Niagara. The region extends across three states - from Western New York through Erie Country in North East Pennsylvania to Geneva in the east of Ohio.
