Twitter launches charity wine
Twitter has launched two wines under the brand Fledgling Wine in a joint initiative with Crushpad, a San Francisco based winery and charity Room to Read. A $5 donation will be made to the charity for every bottle sold to help provide books and libraries to some of the poorest areas of the world to ultimately help boost literacy rates. The two wines are a Pinot Noir and a Chardonnay but won't be bottled until August 2010 and so until then will only be available to pre-order at $20 a bottle via the website fledglingwine.com.
Twitter's co-founders Biz Stone and Evan Williams said they believe Fledgling Wine will help Twitter as well because if you can't read, you can't Tweet!
