Anything but Chardonnay, even if it isn't Chardonnay!

The Australian wine company Rivers Wine that sold fake Chardonnay juice has been fined more than A$350,000 (£200,000)of which A$50,000 is to be paid by the former boss Andrew Hashin. The company in fact sold sultana juice to major wine companies including Hardy's claiming it was Chardonnay. At the time, Chardonnay grapes were worth around four times more per tonne than Sultana. According to reports Rivers Wine is now in liquidation and Hashim is bankrupt and cannot pay the fine.
