Gordon Brown favours fizz over still wine in budget

Our footballing hopes in the World Cup gave wine drinkers some good news to sweeten the bad in the recent Budget. So, although the price of wine went up by 4p a bottle, Chancellor Gordon Brown froze the duty on both Champagne and British sparkling wine in anticipation of us having World Cup success.
