Wine blogging comes of age

The European Wine Bloggers Conference was held in Vienna last weekend and attracted 200 bloggers from 30 countries. The event is co-ordinated by Robert McIntosh, of WineConversation.com, and Ryan And Gabriella Opaz of Catavino.net and was sponsored by Austrian Wine. McIntosh says the events increasing popularity (120 attended last year) is a sign that the wine trade is taking blogging more seriously and more wineries are getting involved and becoming bloggers. The 2011 conference will take place in Brescia in northern Italy from 14-16 October.
