Oddbins deal saves 37 stores and 200 jobs

37 Oddbins shops have been sold as a going concern to European Food Brokers Ltd (EFB), the parent company of Whitalls Wines, saving 200 jobs. Of the 37 shops, 20 are in London and 10 are in Scotland but the Oddbins brand name has been sold separately so its unclear what name these shops will trade under. EFB has a track record for buying up bankrupt wine shops, purchasing 109 Booze Buster shops in 2009 but was unsuccessful in its bid to buy 200 Thresher shops from First Quench last year.
