And the wedding wine is...
Non Vintage Pol Roger is to be the official champagne served at the royal wedding next week, according to wine magazine Decanter and a spokesperson for Pol Roger confirmed that non-vintage wine had been specifically requested by the Palace. The wine will be served before the sit-down meal at the wedding breakfast at Buckingham Palace, but the wines for the meal itself are not yet known and whether any English wine will be served is still being debated.
Pol Roger was the favourite champagne of Sir Winston Churchill but has never been drunk at royal weddings, with Bollinger the firm favourite since Queen Victoria gave it the royal warrant in 1884.
