Beaujolais gets Nouveau campaign
Beaujolais is about to be put under our noses in more ways than one. The French wine is set for a big new promotional campaign to be launched at this year’s London Wine Show. Furthermore, Beaujolais wines will be hosting the preview night at the show, with wine expert Oz Clarke there to take guests through a special tasting. This is the start of a three-year push for the region’s wines. It will focus on Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages, emphasising their accessibility and fresh character. Chris Skyrme, head of PR at Sopexa, who manage French Wines, told the UK Wine Show that, ‘Gamay’s got a lot to offer.’ And if you’re a woman over forty then, according to research, you’re likely to appreciate ‘fruity wines which are easy to drink on all occasions’.
