Jacobs Creek gives lighter alcohol wines a go
Jacob’s Creek is launching a range of lower alcohol wines under a new sub-brand Cool Harvest but will position the range as “light and fresh” rather than targeting the low alcohol sector. The wines will be between 9.5% and 10.5% abv whereas low alcohol wines are around 5.5%.
The Cool Harvest range features a Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz rosé and the positioning is a result of research that showed consumers wanted lower alcohol, but they didn’t want to compromise on flavour. The range will be available in the UK from February 2011 retailing at£8.49.
