Nicolas Catena is Man of the Year

Decanter magazine's Man of the Year 2009 is Nicolas Catena, owner of Argentinian winery Catena Zapata. A celebratory dinner was held in his honour in London this week with 50 guests including previous men of the year and other well known wine personalities. Catena told how he was inspired to make world-class wine in Mendoza on a visit to Robert Mondavi's winery in Napa in the 1980's where he saw how a non-European country was making wines that could challenge France.
