Waitrose sells wine by the glass

Waitrose are following M&S by launching a range of wines in glass-sized packaging. Le Froglet wine in a glass was launched by M&S in June 2010 and created quite a buzz when they were launched despite the fact the inventor James Nash had been rejected on TVs Dragons Den.

But now Waitrose are following suit and are launching La Copita, meaning little cup in Spanish. The trio of red, white and rose La Copita wines are from the Bodegas Lozano winery in La Mancha, south eastern Spain.
The new glasses containing the equivalent of a quarter bottle of wine will be made from quality PET packaging, lightweight yet durable, as well as being eco-friendly and 100% recyclable.

The wines have launched exclusively into Waitrose stores and a number of the newer Waitrose convenience store formats.
