- Sparkling wines with Alexandre Monmousseau of Ch Gaudrelle
Overview
We taste a lovely sparkling rose which is aged for 3 years before disgorgement. The wine is made from a blend of two red grapes, Grolleau and Cabernet Franc and the appellation is Touraine Methode Traditionelle as opposed to Cremant. The second wine we taste is a very refreshing Cremant de Loire Blanc which is made from grapes sourced from vineyards in Saumur. Wine no. 3 is a sparkling Vouvray from the 2011 vintage. It is 100% Chenin Blanc, all sourced from Chateau Gaudrelle vineyards, and has been aged for 30 months.
