Overview
Alberto Tasca d Almerita talks to us about some of the wine regions of Sicily. A key region is Etna with volcanic soils, vineyards planted at altitude. Production stopped for a while over the years but started again in the 1980s. The DOC covers 1000 hectares with 30 wineries. Nerello Mascalese is the main red grape and Carricante the white grape.
