Virgin Wines see sales rise from Eastern Europe and own label Port
Virgin Wines reported this week that their sales rose by 15% over the Christmas trading period. Fortified wines, which include an own label Port, were up 50% compared to last year, while they saw a 200% increase in sales of wines from Hungary and Bulgaria.
Virgin Wines was originally launched in 2000 and 5 years later Direct Wines purchased the business. After changing hands a number of times it was bought out by its management team in 2015.
