- Guy Tresnan of Chapel Down on brand positioning in the UK
Overview
Chapel Down is one of the biggest players in English wine. We met up with Guy Tresnan to find out how they are positioning the brand in the UK market
Chapel Down own their own vineyards as well as having partner growers supplying grapes. The ideal model is to keep the ownership of land 30% owned and 70% partners. Their long term strategy is to promote the Chapel Down brand but also to develop Tenterden as the home of English wine and promote the vineyard as a centre of excellence and tourist destination. For now Chapel Down's sales are concentrated in the domestic market but they see future opportunities in export markets such as Hong Kong, Japan and the United States which could be key when additional volumes come on stream from new plantings.
