- The Taste of Aged Muscadet with Pierre Jean Sauvion from Chateau du Cleray
Overview
Pierre Jean tastes a 1993 vintage Muscadet that has been aged 20 years. There's no longer any fizz to the wine, some oxidation and less citrus notes versus the 2013 with dry peppery, honeyed and more floral characters: Chris likens the wine to an aged Hunter Valley Semillon. We also discuss wine closures and the pros and cons of corks and screwcaps.
