ASDA plans launch new online store

ASDA are launching their first online wine shop as part of their continuing ecommerce strategy. They aim to offer a range of 500 wines having added 200 wines to their existing product portfolio. 30% will be own label and 70% other brands ranging from £5 to £45 per bottle. Consumers can buy a mixed case of 6. Tracy Ford Category Manager said that currently wine accounts for 5% of sales and ASDA will be looking to double wine sales in the next 12-18 months using this online channel.
