Chablis harvest affected by Hail
Despite hailstorms hitting the Chablis region at the start of harvesting this September winemakers are declaring it to be a very good vintage. Hail cut through the region from Irancy up to the Colline des Grands Crus. More than 300 of the 5,400 hectares of Chablis vineyards were affected. A few estates saw significant damage to their fruits but losses were limited overall. The 2015 vintage has been dubbed a sunny one, which stands out for its fruitiness.
