Rathfinny Estate wins unfair dismissal case
Ex-Rathfinny winemaker Jonathan Medard was fired from his role as head winemaker after ruining a third of the 2017 Classic Cuvee due to incorrect dosage of the liqueur de-tirage which resulted in wines that were too fizzy.
After an investigation, Jonathan Medard was fired for costing Rathfinny £500,000, however he claimed unfair dismissal. A tribunal this week found Jonathan Medard was responsible for the costly problem and upheld his dismissal.
A statement from Rathfinny Wine Estate said: We want to reassure the public that thanks to rigorous checks in place none of this wine was ever released to the market.
