- Mark Driver on Rathfinny Vineyards 2
Overview
Mark Driver describes the process of planting up, including analysing the soils (high alkaline due to chalk), working with Plumpton College to study average temperatures/local climate, researching clonal selection for the vines. Mark has a viticulturist Cameron who will be experimenting with different clones to find out what works best in the vineyard. They are currently planting up 400 acres with 10 clones of Pinot Noir and 6 different clones of Chardonnay. Winemaker Jonathan is also on board and will be involved in the design of the winery and purchase of equipment.
