Sotheby's 100 years of fine wine
This December Sotheby's will be offering a century of classic fine wine. Vintages on offer will span from 1903 to 2009 from Bordeaux, Burgundy and Italy. Opening with a single bottle of 1903 Lafite £600-£700 and a more pricey 1928 Mouton Rothschild at £1,000-£1,300. Also on offer a single bottle of 1957 Mouton, and other first growths inlcuding 1964 Haut-Brion at £2400-£2800 each , 1959 Margaux at £3600-£4600 and Italian vintages such as 1986 Solaia, 1999 Ornellaia and 1995 Barolo La Serra from Roberto Voerzio. The sale takes place on 2nd December in London. Meanwhile in Oregon, Hart Davis Hart will be holding the largest wine auction of 2015 with a 3 day event on 10, 11, 12 December. The sale is expected to bring in US$6.8-10.2 million with over 3,000 lots of the world's finest wines being offered. A consignment from the east coast is claimed to be one of the most comprehensive collections of fine Burgundy to ever appear at auction.
