UK overtakes USA in purchasing Chilean wine
The UK has regained the top spot as the biggest export market for Chilean wine, after being overtaken by the USA last year. Figures show that the UK bought 7.2% more by value in 2010 than in 2009, purchasing 291,182 more cases than the previous year.
Historically the UK has always been Chile’s best customer. Wine's of Chile's European director said: “Despite the economic gloom, Chile is once again demonstrating that its growth in this important market is sustained and impressive. Its reputation for diversity of style and value for money, even at higher prices, now has real traction.
