Scotland comes out of Level 4, but restaurants and related business are starting to fail

Scotland, this Friday 11th December, will come put of L4 restrictions at 6pm. Glasgow and 10 other areas in Scotland have been under the severest restrictions since the 20th November, with all pubs and restaurants closed. All regions will be lowered to the still very tough restrictions of L3 in Scotland where pubs and restaurants are banned from selling alcohol and must be closed by 6pm.

Meanwhile in London, Michel Roux Jr announced the permanent closure of the Roux at Parliament Square. The iconic restaurant was run by 2020’s National Chef of the Year Steve Groves. No one knows how the restaurant scene will recover in 2021 but distributors who rely on the restaurant trade are in big trouble. Jascots the wine distributor went into administration last week, a further blow to businesses that rely on the restaurant scene.
