Vaccine passports for the hospitality sector in Scotland are live while Wales will follow soon.

Scotland’s Vaccine passport started off with a rocky start on the 1st October with problems downloading the app, while Wales announced it will require vaccine passports from the 11th October.

In Wales and Scotland, vaccine passports will be required for everyone over 18 to enter nightclubs, indoor non-seated events for more than 500 people, such as concerts or conventions, outdoor non-seated events for more than 4,000 people and any setting or event with more than 10,000 in attendance. People with medical conditions or other legitimate reasons will be exempt.

In Scotland, passports were required from the 1st October but will not be enforced until the 18th October to give venues time to test procedures.

England, which is ruled by the UK government, has no intention of requiring vaccine passports at this stage.
