Scottish nightclubs see turnover halve after the introduction of Covid passports
The first week of enforcement of Scotland’s Covid passports to enter nightclubs has seen revenue drop by almost half.
The survey of 100 later-night businesses by Night Time Industries Association was for the week of 18th October 2021 which saw revenue drop by 46%. The vaccine passports have been required since the 1st October, but the requirement only became legally enforceable from the 18th October. The delay between implementation and enforcement was to give venues a chance to establish systems.
