Southern Spain too hot to invest
The wine giant Miguel Torres announced last week that they will no longer invest in southern Spain due to the effects of global warming. According to Torres there are areas in the south of Spain that are now too hot for winemaking. However they are investing in areas that are at present too cold for winemaking such as Benabarre in the Pyrenees in Catalonia, but which won't be in the future due to global warming. He cited the fact that temperatures in Alaska have risen by 3% in the last 4 years.
