Bordeaux prices rise as traders go into administration
The prices for Bordeaux 2015 are coming in thick and fast at the moment
Pontet Canet - €75 + 13.6% on 2014
Branaire Ducru – €37.2, +26.5%
Lagrange – €28.8, +20%
Lascombes – €50.4, +20%
Léoville Barton – €54, +22.7%
Climens – €48.5, +10.7%
An average rise of around 18% may inject some excitement into the market but this was not enough to save rare and fine wine trader Antique Wine Company (AWC) which is going into administration. Stephen Williams managing director of AWC told Decanter that a significant drop in Bordeaux wine trading, particularly in 2012 and 2013 is to blame.
