Camel Valley Rose 2010 another record winning vintage

Camel Valley 2010 Rose Pinot Noir Brut has won first place at the largest blind tasting of English Sparkling wines ever held on 1 March 2012. Camel Valley are riding high having just won Bollecini Del Mundo in Italy for the second year in a row and Sam Lindo from Camel Valley is also the 2011 UK Winemaker of the year.

The tasting was organised by Stephen Skelton MW and fellow judges included Jancis Robinson, 4 other MW’s and Stephen Spurrier from Decanter. They were joined by representatives from Waitrose and Marks and Spencer and other prominent wine traders and writers.

Meanwhile, English fizz is gaining further ground with Sainsbury’s recently adding an English sparkling wine to its premium own-label Taste the Difference range, for the first time. The English Sparkling Brut 2007 was produced to the supermarket’s own specifications by Denbies Wine Estate.
