Sauternes producer targets nightclubs
The famous dessert wine, Sauternes, is about to undergo a change of image in order to appeal to younger drinkers. Producer Chateau d'Arche is to launch its second wine, La Perle d'Arche, into nightclubs served in 100ml test-tube shaped bottles. Inital trials will be in Bordeaux and Singapore this September with plans to roll out to Australia, the Far East and potentially the UK and United States.
The test-tubes will be presented in ice buckets at the bar to tempt female drinkers.
