UK hospitality hit by Omicron as Covid passports come into force
The hospitality trade here in the UK is being hit by Omicron Covid variant with Covid passports now in force by law.
Many Christmas parties are being rapidly cancelled in the wake of Omicron and now mandatory Covid passes are required for larger establishments.
The government had to rely on the opposition to get the legislation through parliament, with Boris Johnson facing a Tory rebellion, at a time when an all time record number of infections threaten to overwhelm the health service in the next couple of weeks.
Covid passports are now required in the UK to enter nightclubs, indoor unseated venues with more than 500 people, and unseated outdoor venues that can potentially host more than 4,000 visitors.
